Dustin began working with wood when his grandfather gave him a chainsaw. He immediately started carving with the new gift to create an angel in a log. He was instantly addicted to carving as a form of expression as it brought him great joy. Dustin loves woodworking and wood grain manipulation as it is therapeutic and is very helpful to calm the mind. His contemplations of life and feeling of emotion are expressed vividly in his works of art.
He has been working with wood for 3 years and shares his craft at local art shows and at the artist co op. Dustin’s work has progressed over the years as he acquired more tools to work with and his attention to detail has grown. He never throws away a mistake, as he has realized working with mistakes they are actually taking Dustin in a new direction and allowing the creative flow to guide him into works of art he never expected.
